Endless streams of words will be written about the events of this evening and morning, so OldSouth will be brief.
If you're looking in from some other part of the world at this late hour in the Western Hemisphere, the live feed is here.
So far, things have gone well. Let's keep a prayer going until everyone is safely out.
This is an inspiring moment for everyone, everywhere. Expertise, resources, cooperation, thought, and no small amount of love were applied to this situation. If everyone emerges, what could have been a terrible tragedy will have a happy ending.
Mr. Sepulveda emerged in high spirits, with a small bag of rocks from the mine floor to hand out as souvenirs, hugged one and all, and then went to the gallery and and began leading cheers: Chi, Chi, Chi-Le,Le,Le. Here's hoping everyone else emerges as healthy and happy.
Conratulations in order to the nation of Chile, who pulled together, and are in the process of pulling off a miracle.
N.B. The third miner just emerged in good spirits. They're going a pace of about one per hour, it appears. Keep a good thought, 'cuz it ain't over til it's over.
The culture shapes the economy long before the economy shapes the culture. Where should we devote our energies?

Stuffing NASA's Bolden Down The Memory Hole: Robert Gibbs Says He Didn't Actually Say What He Said...
Robert Gibbs (aka ObamaBob) is our new Ron Nessen, the beleaguered press secretary for Richard Nixon. The poor man's job was to go out every day, and explain why today's lie was the truth, and that we should ignore yesterday's lie.
So, today Gibbs assures us that Bolden didn't actually say what he was clearly quoted as saying to Al Jazeera, and in other places as well. You know, the bit about The One telling him his first priority is to make Muslims feel good about themselves.
The laughter still hasn't subsided, so Gibbs has to 'splain it to us, that we should just forget what clearly happened, and stuff it down the Memory Hole.
Really, ya'll. He thinks we'll buy it, too!
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that NASA Administrator Charles Bolden must have misspoken when he told Al Jazeera last month that one of his top priorities is to reach out to Muslim countries.
"That was not his task and that's not the task of NASA," Gibbs said.
Bolden, though, said last month in the interview that it was President Obama who gave him that task. He made a similar claim in February.
The White House also backed up Bolden last week when his remarks first stirred controversy. A White House spokesman last Tuesday said Obama wants NASA to engage with the world's best scientists and that to meet that challenge, NASA must "partner with countries around the world like Russia and Japan, as well as collaboration with Israel and with many Muslim-majority countries."
NASA last week walked back Bolden's claim that Muslim outreach was the "perhaps foremost" plank of his mission, saying that Bolden was merely talking about his "outreach" responsibilities and that space exploration is still NASA's No. 1 job.
But Gibbs on Monday appeared to deny that Bolden was asked to focus on Muslim outreach at all.
Riiiiiight...

Shaking One's Head In Disbelief: Charles Bolden Of NASA
[Cue the music!!!]
Yemen! The Final Frontier!
These are the voyages of the Starship Obama, on its four-year mission to completely gut the space program of its last fifty years of progress.
NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.
Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.
John Kennedy, without a doubt, is rolling in his grave.
