Holy Humiliation, Batman! Obama Lost His Own Primary In Most Of Kentucky's Counties!

President Barack Obama’s underwhelming victory over a nonexistent candidate in Tuesday’s primary in Kentucky can be tied to a mix of factors — but mostly to widespread and emphatic opposition to many of his policies, according to state and national political observers. Voting for “uncommitted” over Obama in the primary doesn’t mean Democrats will vote for a Republican in the fall, “but it’s a pretty loud criticism of where they see this president and his policies,” said Bill Bissett, president of the Kentucky Coal Association, who believes Obama has angered people in Kentucky coal counties with his support of alternative forms of energy. Obama won just 58 percent of the vote against “uncommitted,” which drew 42 percent of the vote. “Uncommitted” won in 67 of Kentucky’s 120 counties and tied Obama in another.

Himself lost to MizzHillary in the 2008 primary and McCain took the state in the general, but still, ya'll.... Kentucky is a heavily unionized/closed-shop state, and predictably Obama won Louisville and Bowling Green, where the UAW plants are located, along with the universities, and General Electric (in Louisville). (Precinct-by-precinct results here.) But apart from the traditional urban Democrat-or-nothing enclaves, it is not good news for Himself.

He has openly declared war on the coal industry, and by golly the counties that house the coal industry are, well, pissed-off. The Department of Labor attempted to regulate family farms to the point that children couldn't do chores-and by golly, the rural county voters pushed back, at least those few who bothered to vote the Democrat primary. The Department of Agriculture and EPA have decided that dirt stirred up by the wind is a threat to the polar bears, and rural people are pushing back while they still can. It is no secret that Obama, Holder, MizzNancy and MassahHarry would confiscate every gun in every home, given the opportunity; or that they would leave the southern border wide open, given the opportunity.

They think people who live in small towns are stupid, that they are just dumb rednecks, unworthy of a thought. The small-town folks beg to differ.

Then there are the social issues...and the obvious decline of the county seats under the heel of a government that only knows how to increase welfare dependency and punish accomplishment. The schools that don't function, occupied by the NEA, still. The decline in living standards, the ballooning of debt, the underemployment, the kids having to move back in with their kids because all the jobs went away.

Then, there is the memory of the 1990's, when the federal government and the trial lawyers kicked the legs out from underneath the tobacco industry. The empty barns and idle farms stand as silent witnesses to that bit of Utopian intervention. People remember when those little tobacco plots made the difference in a family's way of life, and how they were taken away, and all that 'settlement money' from the tobacco industry was simply pissed away by the politicians. They remember these things.

They also remember that it's their kids who join the military, and do the fighting and dying, and suspect the Commander-in-Chief may be working off some other playbook than the one that outlines how to win wars.

So. Let's assume all those 'undecided' types, after they see that their primary votes are ignored, simply...stay...home this fall. No donations. No phone calls, no meetings attended. No yard signs. No showing up at the polls in November. That's the best-case scenario for Himself.

 OS thinks some of those folks will even show up in November, given the opportunity to express their feelings about Obama, and vote GOP, up and down the ticket. OS checked the precinct totals at the union halls--even there, there were some 'undecideds' lurking about, and not many votes cast at all. Wonder how many of those folks, who are unhappy with Himself but not willing to confront their union bosses, just stayed home?

Of course, this won't receive much attention from the East Coast media. After all, those folks in Kentucky are just a bunch of hillbillies, not worthy of the attention of sophisticates like us...

The Lockerbie Bomber Dies Peacefully In His Libyan Hospital Bed. His Victims Are Left With More Questions Than Answers.

The whole affair stinks to High Heaven.

Two hundred-seventy innocent people were murdered in cold blood. The lives of their families were shattered. Al-Megrahi, the bomber, lived in freedom for eleven years before his keepers in Libya decided to cough him up. They needed the money from the oil revenue, and had tired of the role of Pariah of the Mediterranean.

He's convicted in Scotland, sentenced to life. Finally.

Then Scots cough him up again in 2009, and send his scurvy cowardly behonkus back to Libya, supposedly on 'humanitarian grounds', two years ago. Eight years into his life sentence, claiming he was at death's door, poor chap. He's put on the plane in Scotland on a hospital gurney, and upon his arrival in Tripoli, saunters down the step of the plane to a hero's welcome.

Meanwhile, twenty-four years later, the families still feel the loss, and know two things:

They will never get the true story of why their loved ones were killed. This was not a one-man operation, by any means.

They were sold out, probably for cash, by politicians in both Edinburgh and London.

OS especially extends his sympathies to those parents whose college-age children were lost. Those kids would be about forty now, most with families and kids of their own. Every December, those parents, now in their seventies, hear silence where their grandchildren that never were don't gather around the tree and table. They also get to relive the date 21 December, when their children died, as they soak in that horrible silence.

Lest anyone wonder at the general sense of disgust felt by the law-abiding towards their amoral and law-flouting political class--remember Lockerbie.

No, Really. The Obama White House/Re-Election Campaign Has Inserted Obama Into The Biographies Of His Predecessors

Words fail. Really.

OS picked up on this article from an acquaintance, and his first thought was 'Nawwww! Somebody's pulling my leg. This is a prank. Not even Obama would be that shameless and completely stupid.'


Actually, the article's author had had that same reaction himself...only to discover multiple re-edits of the biographies to include Himself in the great narrative of the past.

Here are just a few examples, and the readers dug up even more--including a few about Michelle!

• In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has “an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected.” He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.

• President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare signed (sic) into law in 1965—providing millions of elderly healthcare stability. President Obama’s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the “donut hole.”

• On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.

• In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.

Really, Honest--There's Noooooo Problem On Our Border With Mexico

...and all those people in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas who are jumping up and down in alarm are just a bunch of raaaaaacists.

So they and we will just ignore little items like this, so nobody gets upset and Massah Obama gets the re-election to which He is entitled, because, well, He's Himself.

The bodies of 23 people were found hanging from a bridge or decapitated and dumped near city hall Friday in the border city of Nuevo Laredo, where drug cartels are fighting a bloody and escalating turf war.

Authorities found nine of the victims, including four women, hanging from an overpass leading to a main highway, said a Tamaulipas state official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to provide information on the case.

Hours later, police found 14 human heads inside coolers outside city hall along with a threatening note. The 14 bodies were found in black plastic bags inside a car abandoned near an international bridge, the official said.

Noooooo worries! This sort of behavior can't poooooossibly cross the border to the interior of the United States. We don't have any of those Mexican gang types up here, mixed in among those 12 million or so illegal aliens, right? That what Mzzzzzzzz Napolitano assures us, and she knows everything about all of this sort of thing.

What's 522, 000 minus 115,000?

That would be 407,000, the net loss of individuals from the US workforce in April 2012.

In April, about 522,000 Americans left the labor force, making the addition of 115,000 jobs look all the more alarming. In 2011, about 2.7 million Americans left the work force while only 945,000 came in.

So, what's  2.7 million minus 945,000?

That would be 1,755,000, the net loss of individuals from the US workforce in 2011.

So, what's 14.5 minus 8.1?

That would be the total percentage of unemployed (including those who have given up) minus the 'official' unemployment rate in April 2012. 6.4% of the entire US workforce.

Having 6.4 percent of the nation’s employable adults out of economic circulation is big trouble. For older adults in that category, they may never be able to return to work. For younger adults, it means a lifetime of lower wages and slower advancement if they eventually get back in the hunt and find a job.

OS knows that Himself never did like math, cuz he was too busy thinking of ways to take over and then wreck the United States. But someone might wish to risk whispering in His ear that, with each day that passes, the November election gets one day closer.

That math he understands, cause it's all about Him.

Green Energy, Toxic Waste, Taxpayer Fleecing, Obama's Energy Policy

The perfect image, example and cautionary tale of the administration of Barack Obama.


Solyndra, the gift that just keeps on giving. Hundreds of millions ponied up to political friends, sunk into a bone-head business that had zero chance of succeeding, but did make for some great photo-ops for Himself.

It goes tits-up, and leaves behind years worth of toxic waste to clean up, again at our expense.

No one is to blame, no one goes to jail, no one is even sued. They all just walk away, and we get to clean it all up.

It fits perfectly, except we have the opportunity to hasten His exit this November via the ballot box.

But we'll still have years, perhaps a generation, of clean-up ahead of us.

Adios, Dr. Amendariz--And The Questions That Linger

It was a Sunday afternoon execution, off the news cycle, unobtrusive. The resignation was written for him, no doubt, and he signed off. Dr. Al Armendariz, who so reveled in Roman political technique, was treated to, not Roman, but more approximately, Soviet political technique.

He is surely under orders to disa-blanking-ppear, lest he be disappeared by his former mentors whom he now must still regard as his present bosses. Surely a quiet bit of good-bye money has been arranged, just to help him maintain his loyalty, his silence, and to reduce the temptation to, say, write a book about his life in the Obama Administration for release in early October--complete with the requisite book tour and chat-show appearances. He probably didn't need to threaten them too extensively, and he knows that if he were to jabber, and Obama win in November...his wife teaches school and he has children and he'd like a shot at academia again someday...hmmm. Silence is golden, after all, is it not? Who knows, if Obama wins, he could be rehabilitated! It happened in the golden days of the Soviet Union, after all, why not here and now?

Thus: A reading from the Book of Regulatory, Chapter 13, Verse 13.

Al Armendariz, the top environmental official in the oil-rich South and Southwest region, resigned in a letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson on Sunday, saying he did not want to be a distraction for the agency. The resignation is effective Monday.

"As I have expressed publicly, and to you directly, I regret comments I made several years ago that do not in any way reflect my work as regional administrator. As importantly, they do not represent the work you have overseen as EPA administrator," he wrote. "I take great pride in having built a career based on integrity and hard work. These are the principles that guide me personally as well. While I feel there is much work that remains to be done for the people of this country in the region that I serve, after a  great deal of thought and careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that my continued service will distract you and the agency from the 2012 political campaign its important work."

Here endeth the lesson.

The most important bit is in the first sentence--'I've already said I'm sorry, and I'm not really like that, and I guarantee you aren't really like that. Honest, I don't know how those words came to my lips--I must have been channeling Caligula or Hugo Chavez'. 

Of course, the question does linger in the air: How did TheMostTransparentAndIntellectuallyAstute administration in the history of the Republic hire this guy? To work at this level, the candidate has to be vetted and vetted again and background checked and interviewed several times, because he really will wield a lot of power as the energy caudillo of Region 6.  They'd need a guy with the sort of stones and lack of squeamishness needed to crush TheLittlePeople under the boot, someone who wouldn't surprise them with pangs of conscience, someone who could boast about the Romans crucifying villagers at random as a legitimate means of governance.

 

So, we are led to one of two conclusions: Obama and Lisa Jackson, if they were doing their jobs and are the astute people they insist they are, must have known with certainty what manner of man they were hiring. Or, alternatively, they were recklessly negligent to the point downright stupidity to have hired Dr. Armendariz. There really isn't much middle ground of possibility.

So, which is it? Are they venal, or are they stupid? 

Can we afford to have them in power, in any case?

Don't Miss Your Life: Epiphany On The Road Home

There are those moments, those moments when time stands completely still. Sometimes, we can schedule their arrival, such as midnight service on Christmas Eve--we show up and The Moment happens, right on time. Other times, we can sense something may happen, as the sunset approaches, or Bubba Watson (or Tom Watson!) lines up that final putt, Kirk Gibson at the plate when only a home run will do, when the fishing fly hits the water just-so under that particular tree limb.

Then, there are the completely unexpected epiphanies, when the heavens open up and the angels sing, perhaps loudly perhaps softly; still it's unmistakeably a voice from outside that takes us by the lapels, looks us in the eye and growls--Pay Attention! You need to listen!

OS has had just a few of those, and reports with regret he disregarded a few of them. Others, he is grateful to report, he heeded.

Yesterday saw one of those moments arrive unbidden, out of the blue, like a slap upside-da-head. OS was driving home from short business trip, decided to see how much of the interstate he could avoid, and took in the countryside and small towns of southern Tennessee. The radio was playing, oldies until the station faded, a bit of black gospel (same story), and then a strong-signal country station from the next county over...ahh that's better. Some dreck, some classics. OS decided to drive through what remains of the once pretty downtown of Fayetteville. It was a scene of long decline, capped by this last recession decisively kicking the legs out from underneath the town. Radio playing, radio playing....and a song begins about a busy man on a plane with a deadline and BigThingsToDo--this song, as a matter of fact.

It tears at the heart, this song. OS was listening, absorbed in the lyric, rounded the curve at the old city cemetery, and saw a large old tombstone facing out to the road--with his name on it. Song plays on, and on--Don't Miss Your Life.

So, for the record (no pun intended) this epiphany did capture the attention, and OS has no intention of disregarding such a gift.

Al Amendariz Issues An Apology Of A Sort--Where's The Line That Says 'I Resign'?

HOUSTON — A top administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has apologized for using the word "crucify" two years ago when describing the agency's enforcement policies, and for saying it makes examples of bad players in the oil and gas industry.

EPA Region 6 administrator Al Armendariz, who oversees Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico, issued a written apology Wednesday after video surfaced of him at a meeting in May 2010 in the tiny town of Dish.

The video shows Armendariz answering a question about the agency's enforcement policies. In the Middle Ages, he tells the crowd, the Romans would enter a troublesome village, "take the first five guys they saw and crucify them." Then the town would be "really easy to manage for the next few years," he said.

Armendariz's apology was issued Wednesday by the EPA's headquarters in Washington.

"I apologize to those I have offended and regret my poor choice of words. It was an offensive and inaccurate way to portray our efforts to address potential violations of our nation's environmental laws," he said. "I am always and have been committed to fair and vigorous enforcement of those laws."

Cynthia Giles, the assistant administrator for enforcement and compliance assurance, also issued a statement.

"Strong, fair and effective enforcement of the environmental laws passed by Congress is critical to protecting public health and ensuring that all companies, regardless of industry, are playing by the same rules," she wrote.


A few points come to mind:

1. Al didn't write the apology, and he sure didn't have the stones to actually go on camera and read it. Both would require a bit of contrition and true integrity. Remember, after all, this is the Obama administration.

2. Notice what the apology conveys--just a poor choice of words. Actually no apology for the attitudes behind those words, from either him or Mzzzzz Giles. The apology is for the manner of stating the brutal attitude taken by the EPA toward the culture and economy of the United States. There is no repentance concerning the policy set in place and followed. They plan to continue screwing us all to the wall, and will take care to not be so candid about it. Sweeeeeet.

3.  Had this occurred in the Reagan or either Bush administrations, CBS and NBC would lead off every hour expressing their outrage at this outrageous pronouncement, and demanding resignations.
Not a peep except a quiet reporting of a non-apology.

This is a firing offense, and the Administration should have him cleaning out his office in the morning.  But they won't, and the mainstream press will never utter a discouraging word.
