Delingpole Sees Through Obama's Irish Malarkey

President Teleprompter is trying to get that Reagan magic thing going, ya'll. Really, after all those years of SouthSideChicagoStreetTalk (especially when he thinks the cameras and mics are off...) he declares his True Identity! He's Irish, after all.

Delingpole takes Himself apart in fine style.

Enjoy.

Bebe Netanyahu Not Mincing Words With Congress

OS is hip deep in work, and is checking in on Bebe's speech.

Lots of enthusiasm at first from the audience, but as he gets to the heart of the question--the right of Israel to exist, and the Arab intransigence on that question--OS sees more and more members of Congress only giving perfunctory applause, checking to see if the camera has pointed in their direction.

It is very plain to see, that along with Obama, many of those folks would love to see Israel thrown under the bus.

Why yes, it would be a tragedy you know, all those millions slaughtered, etc. etc. etc. but in the end perhaps it's for the best...(the mental wheels are turning...)

Can we get away with it? After all, Cambodia became a killing field and we're all still here and got away with it. All those boat people who decamped for Hong Kong, well, they're a distant memory. All those Eastern Europeans left to slavery by Roosevelt, well, it was necessary you know. The tide of history and all. All those millions of Chinese we sold off to Mao, well, it was unfortunate, but we get cheap iPads now, so it all comes out in the wash. All those Poles, Baltic peoples, the Armenians, well it's unfortunate but we just had to cut them loose.

Bebe isn't giving them the luxury of that line of thought. The stony faces make that evident. They want this over, and him to get the hell out of town.

Moh', latuh.

And, as a special grin for the day, the thought that President Teleprompter, for whom Truth does not exist, gets to follow this performance when he addresses the House of Commons in London.

Good luck with that, Barry!

The Ruins Of The Detroit Train Station, In 360 Degree Panorama

Mish Shedlock just posted the link to this shocking tour of what has become of one of the great landmarks of the United States.

Click here to begin the photo tour.

It is not for the faint of heart, and if you wish to shield the kids from profanity, wait until they are in another room. The graffiti is vulgar in the extreme. (Remember all those self-impressed academic asses who tried to convince us that graffiti is an art form??? Rubens was an artist. The rabble who invade this architectural gem and spray it with their filth are vandals.)

OS had to hold back the tears as he viewed the photo gallery, and abandoned it after a few minutes. Too much else to be doing, and he doesn't need his mind clouded with the grief and anger.

This is what Socialism, banksters, and rule by the Democrat Party for decades, has produced. They all have to go. Firmly, politely, legally, non-violently--they must all be shown the door.

Osama's Dead, And John Walker Lindh Is Still In Prison...

...because he's guilty.

His dad thinks he's a victim. Riiiight....

The CIA officer murdered in his presence (and the man's family) should be afforded the label of 'victim'. People who participate in murder are traditionally regarded as 'criminals'.

And, even in the Age of Obama (post-Clinton), there remains a huge percentage of the population who still adhere to those traditional (if oh-so, well, antiquated) notions of language. They'll never get the invite to Sean Penn's cocktail parties, but on the whole, that's a good trade-off.

With Little Johnny (who prefers to be known as Abu Sulayman al-Irlandi) in the pokey, we all know where he is, and he's very unlikely to bear arms against the United States whilst there.

He's fortunate to have been arrested under US law, which afforded him all the rights guaranteed by the Constitution he despises and wishes to overthrow.

In an Islamic-run setting, such as Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iran, Syria (need we continue?), young Johnny would have been executed (after extensive torture). In his case, in the United States, he was able to negotiate a plea bargain which gutted his victim's family. Again.

Enjoy prison, Johnny--it beats the Sharia alternative you so ardently seek.

Encore In Honor of Dominique Strauss-Kahn: Clarke And Dawes Explain The European Debt Crisis

Since this brilliant bit first appeared ten months ago, a lot of historical water has flowed under the proverbial bridge, in Ireland, Finland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, North Africa, and one penthouse in New York City. (And, let's not forget Mr. Berlusconi and his seventeen-year-old love interest...just the kinda guy t'be running a large country, don't-cha-know!)

Remember Kelly's Corollary to Murphy's Law? Murphy was an optimist!

Enjoy, ya'll! This week could get ugly for the markets.

Come on, Ireland: Pat Condell Mows Brussels Down, And Americans Need To Listen To Him, Too

OS usually doesn't listen to talking heads, but Pat Condell is no ordinary talking head.

What he's describing about Ireland sounds eerily like what has been happening in the US.

Tennessee Legislature Ousts The Teacher's Union: Bill On it's Way To The Governor's Desk

Summary of the bill as passed is here. There is a bit to read through in detail, but the gist of it is: The TEA is de-certified, teachers can choose who will represent them (or do without any affiliation if they wish), anyone who strikes can be fired, and there is no union dues checkoff via payroll. That means TEA or any other organization will have to solicit prospective members to actually write a check for membership. This will change the dynamic of things greatly. Expect some retirements, layoffs and resignations at TEA in the coming year.

Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey sent an announcement around via email, noting 'It matters who governs.' Indeed it does. The vote was not even close in either house.

Gov. Haslam is expected to sign the bill.

Since 1978, TEA has ruled the roost, and things went from bad to worse.

Now, beginning Monday morning, once the bill is law, the union can no longer be blamed.

The schools still suck. It is now up to the school boards, and the parents, and the teachers and the students themselves to right the ship.

The schools of Tennessee are a disgrace. This is a once-in-a-century opportunity to get things right, and the conservatives who brought this about are now firmly in the driver's seat.

They better produce results, and quickly. No more raging about the unions, etc.

Time to govern, ya'll.

So, If Time Has An End, And It's Tomorrow...

...OS will celebrate with one final visit to his golf club, and watch the sun set over the treeline behind the second fairway, grateful to the Almighty for that sun, those trees, and the privilege of getting to play golf one last time.

If, for some reason, Duh Reverend Camping is correct in his calculations, well then ya'll--It's been real.

If for some reason OS's readers just must-must-must view Duh Reverend's numerological reasonings, click here. But, really, you should get a life. OS chuckled at the numerous misspellings in the table of contents.

Enjoy the weekend, and live like time really is short. Cuz' in any case, given our mortality vs the length of Eternity, it is.

Time, like an ever-rolling stream, bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream flies at the break of day.

The New Rules Of Golf, Edited By Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Holder and Geithner

OS ran across this, which undoubtedly has made the rounds of cyberspace a few times.

But, since we all need a grin, OS passes this uncredited bit of humor along to his readers.

President Obama has recently appointed a Golf Czar and major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective in May 2011. This is only a preview as the complete rule book (expect 2000 pages) is being rewritten as we speak. Here are a few of the changes.

Golfers with handicaps:

• below 10 will have their green fees increased by 35%.
• between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees.
• above 18 will get a $20 check each time they play.

The term “gimmie” will be changed to “entitlement” and will be used as follows:

• handicaps below 10, no entitlements.
• handicaps from 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts.
• handicaps above 18, if your ball is on green, no need to putt, just pick it up.

These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness and, most importantly, equality in scoring.

In addition, a player will be limited to a maximum of one birdie or six pars in any given 18-hole round.

Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par.

Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player actually making the birdie or par, can that player begin to count his pars and birdies again. The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes, but the term “net score” will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps of 18 and above.

This is intended to “re-distribute” the success of winning by making sure that in every competition, the above 18 handicap players will post only “net score” against every other player’s gross score.

These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf.

Golf must be about Fairness. It should have nothing to do with ability, hard work, practice, and responsibility. This is the “right thing to do.”
