When we remember the high moral indignation, righteous indignation, screaming crowds of demonstrators indignation, DixieChicksStandingUpForTheRight indignation, about US intervention in the Middle East, let us contemplate this modest news report from the Jerusalem Post.
We are in this Syria mess up to our ears, and have been all along. We are helping co-ordinate it, fund it, run it. The blood is flowing. A secret war has been waged in our name, with our money. This makes Iran-Contra of the 1980's look like child's play. This is the stuff of the John LeCarre novels.
And we really have no clear idea who 'The Opposition' is, except that they certainly won't be European Social Democrat types. They will be some form of Islamist cause. They will turn their new shiny weapons against us and Israel.
There are families sending their children off to school in Tennessee today, little knowing that their eighth-grade boys and girls are slated for extinction in about 8-10 years, courtesy of the Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Barack Hussein Obama.
OS heads off to the polls this morning, to vote in the local primary election. It is heartening to see a raft of conservative candidates on the ballot, for positions ranging from school board to US Senate. OS plans to vote from the bottom up--namely voting for the individuals most likely to work to negate and undo the damage done by Obama and his Leftist allies. OS views it as insurance: Even if Himself somehow manages to recapture the White House, he faces a world in which most of the states, from school board to Senate are in the hands of people who will not offer a morsel of cooperation.
Who knows, we may yet save a few of those fourteen-year-old boys and girls yet.
The culture shapes the economy long before the economy shapes the culture. Where should we devote our energies?

The Security Council Veto By Russia And China: US Delegate Expresses Her 'Disgust'...
...(breaking into the local patois) but did ya'll notice that she didn't say she wuz serpriiiized?
Let's go over this agin, realll slow, so even dem folk at the Yew Nork Times kin understand it:
If'n we're beholden to China from here to Sunday, 'cuz they totin' our note, and buildin' our phones, auto parts, and everthin' else, and hold a bunch of the world's gold, etc. etc. etc., then we have exactly no say about what may happen about lotsa' stuff, overseas or heah. In case yew haven't noticed, the folk what run RedChina are murderers and thieves, happily running great portions of their country as a slave labor camp. And jes' you try to open yerselves up a Baptist Church down the street....wheweee dey put yore lily-white in jail fer that. These thugs be in the driver's seat, we be in the back of the bus, ya'll.
If'n Russia is the main natchural gas provider to Western Europe, then them Russkies can do whatever they damn well please, include ship freighters full of armaments to that murderer Assad, soze he can murder his citizen'ry more efficiently. Which is exactly what he be doin'--dem folks dyin' like flies, and tain'nt nuthin' Western Europe can do 'bout it, unless they love living in the dark and the cold.
So, folks in Syria whut don't want to live under that murderer Assad are being shot down wholesale in the streets--no Arab Spring nonsense heah', ya'll. Assad did notice how pitiful things ended for Gadafi, and don't intend to join him anytime soon. And he knows the Russkies and RedChinese have got his back, providing diplomatic cover and an endless supply of toys to kill folks whut displease him.
And, in more standard English...
Here in the States, we've been living like drunken sailors since the mid-1960's, running a welfare state here, and running wars in far-flung places so we can establish welfare states there, too. We won't drill our own oil, dig our own coal, make our own steel/cars/clothes/tv's/washing machines. And we've been charging it to our credit card, held by folks like the Chinese and the Saudis. As for the Russians, they're running their house like a criminal racket, and we've been more interested in cashing in than checking to make sure our pockets haven't been picked.
This cannot end well, and things have no hope of getting better unless we change our behavior.

Undoubtedly, The Slaughter In Syria Will Be Blamed On Israel...
Wait for it, it will happen.
The latest figures of the Arab army of Assad slaughtering Arab civilians in Hama now stands about 2000. Hillary decided the threshold of caring had been breached, and decided to say disapproving things about the situation.
The BBC report is here, complete with (univerified) footage.
OS would wish to gently remind his readers that, if allowed to prevail in the Middle East, all of Palestine will be run by people like Assad, and much worse.

If It's Friday, It's Bloodletting In Syria
One can set the watch to it--US Central +8 hours, midmorning the reports come back. They go to the mosque, they get fired up by the local imam, who stays safely indoors, they head to the streets and a couple of dozen are shot down.
Lather.
Rinse.
Repeat.
Does it occur to anyone, anywhere, in any position of responsibility that maybe-maybe-just maaaaby...there's an inherent flaw in the Islamic approach to life that always leads to repression and violence?
Just sayin...
In the meantime, what's an Arab uprising without a flood of refugees spilling across someone's border, with only the clothes on their backs, and tales of terror to share?
France24 has more to share.
