Peter Van Buren is pleading with anyone who will hear that Hillary Clinton is a danger to the world.

The arguments of “everybody does it” and “well, it wasn’t illegal” in
regards to the email server, the Clinton Foundation, pay-for-play,
donor access, dirty tricks against Sanders, the many well-timed
coincidences of Trump revelations, and more, are strawman logic.
Leaving aside the idea that people usually say “everybody does it”
and “well, it wasn’t illegal” only when their own candidate gets caught
doing something, what was done matters.
It really does.

To expose to the world even the appearance of such impropriety is a
disgrace. The president has as one of her roles setting the example for
the federal workforce. Is the example that as long as it skirts the edge
of legality it is fine behavior? If I was a contracts officer in the
Social Security Administration and allowed a vendor to donate crazy
amounts of money to my spouse’s non-profit as I was considering a
contract award, would that too be OK?
What about if I was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to make a
speech to that organization? What if I would not let anyone know what I
said? All OK? Does everyone really do that?
Dear Legions of Readers: Do YOU do that at your place of business or service? Really? Is it OK for your colleagues and supervisors to do that? Really?
OS sent two children to the local elementary school out here in Mayberry, back in the halcyon days of Bill Clinton's regime. The school principal was a kindly gent, let's call him Mr. Lester. He was tall, spoke with a lovely drawl, could name every kid in the school, and in many cases has taught their parents and grandparents. He had taught and mentored several of the teachers in his school, from first grade onward. He was One Of Those Guys, trusted and beloved, and still is.
As the extent of Bill's behavior with and about Miss Lewinsky became known, OS encountered Mr. Lester in the halls of the school, and asked a simple question:
If you behaved toward a student teacher like the President has behaved toward Ms. Lewinsky, what would happen to you?
He chuckled, and in that broad drawl said: Why, they'd put me UNDER the jail!
That was twenty years ago, dear readers. How much ethical sewage has flowed under the historical bridge in the United States since that day?
Vote ya'll. For Trump and down the GOP ticket, ya'll.
And, while you still can, send dollars in The Donald's direction.
Whoodathunk any of us would be at the place where we now find ourselves? What if just a few more senators had voted to impeach Bill back in the day? How many tens of thousands (at least!!) of lives would have been saved around the world?
It matters who wins.
